How the YubiKey works
Register your YubiKey
Go to the Security Settings section, select two-factor authentication using the security key, and follow the setup instructions.
Tap on phone
On a computer, insert the YubiKey into a USB-port and touch the YubiKey to verify you are human and not a remote hacker.
Tap on phone
For NFC-enabled Android phones, just tap a YubiKey 5 NFC against the phone to complete authentication. Hold the key to the phone for secure authorization.
Smart Card
Integrate YubiKey into your Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure. Smart-card mode provides robust multi-factor authentication for Windows servers and workstations.
FIDO2 and U2F
Secure two-factor, multi-factor, and passwordless authentication for hundreds of online services, web applications, and software that support the open standards of FIDO2 and U2F.
One-time passwords
Integrate native YubiOTP support using the YubiCloud authentication service, or program your own OATH TOTP or HOTP data to generate one-time passwords.
